Who now?

My name is Russell Chow(he/him) and I am a lighting designer, moving light programmer, board op, electrician, stage manager’s pet, google sheets wizard, hobbyist clown, professional gamer, collector of innumerable silly hats, etc. originally from LA!

I first started working in live performance in 2015 and have done everything in my power since then not to stop. I specialize in lighting although I’ve worked in a variety of different disciplines within the theatre sphere. I hope to bring my varied experience within theatre into my work as an artistic collaborator.

I received my B.A. in Theatre from the University of California, San Diego and was the recipient of the Theatre & Dance Undergraduate Scholarship Award. In my time there I designed and assisted on as many UCSD productions as I could, as well as getting hands on experience in the shops as a carpenter and electrician. I also acted as the technical director of the student theatre company, Company 157, the source of many of my most cherished (and stressful) memories.

In my free time I stream some of my favorite games on twitch, garden, thrift, and spend time with my beloved cat PB (pictured below).

(PB stands for Peanut Butter)
